Each
item, as
brought
in from
the
database,
is a
unit
cost
item
with a
quantity
of 1
indicating
1 unit
of that
item.
The
Labor,
Materials,
etc.
components
are all
at unit
basis
so, for
one unit
of
"Install
drywall
- taped
and
finished,
1/2",
over 300
SF"
the
labor is
.03
hours at
a rate of
31.00
and the
materials
cost and
price
are as
pictured.
All that
is
necessary
is to
change
the
Quantity
if we
want
more of
those
units
and the
multiplication
will be
done.
You will
see the
difference
next to
the
Cost
and
Price
headings
under he
text .
The
Budget
code is
used to
give us
our Job
Cost
Budget.
If you
chose
the
commercial
processing
using
the RS
Means
databases
the
screen
will
look
like
this.
All
processes
on the
screen
will
work the
same way
as show
in the
following
flow.

Using
the
Compress
check
box can
alter
the view
of the
estimate
screen.
The
default
screen
configuration
can be
set on
the
Construction
Properties
screen.

When
changes
are made
to the
Labor or
Materials
Factors
and the
Working
Cost
Database
is
updated
the item
in that
database
that
matches
this may
have new
costs.
The
Updateable
from
database
indicator
tells
the
system
that,
when you
click on
the
Refresh
button
on the
estimate
screen,
this
item can
be
updated.
