Maintain the Estimating
Database or Estimating Database.
Let's
show the commercial database first just to indicate that the
difference in the way the system handles that database is only
different in the way the screen showing that database works.
The rest of the processing does not change between the
residential and RS Means commercial databases.
If you are using the RS Means database the screen will look like the following but the processes are the same. Notice that the menu of buttons is on top instead of the left column. Also notice that there are 3 levels of categories within each division and clicking on the category name gives you the list of items in that category.

residential database.

includes the capability to create any templates you want to make your estimating easier and some basic templates are included.
Click on the Maintain Templates button and you will see the templates. You will see another way you might create a template and how to maintain them.
